CRAPPIEBAIT
I bought a 100' spool of speaker wire and I hooked it up to my spining wing decoy. The other end comes back to the blind with me and hooks up to the battery,so when no ducks / no spining wing decoy (save on battery).QUESTION:Is this considered a "remote control" ?I figured I better find out b/4 I use it. Evenflow
Yes, it should be legal. The reason the remotes are illegal in MN is because they use you can't use light or radios to aid in the taking of game. I believe most of the remotes use radio frequency signals to start and stop the motors. A setup like you have described would be legal, but like everyone always says on here, don't ask us, call your local CO to be sure.
Froggy4371
Crappiebait,You better call the CO's on this one. Technically they say no remote controls for running the decoys but and that is what you are doing even though there is not control box for it. if it was wireless it would be radio controled but with a wire it is remote controled. So just to be safe give them a call. I personally concider it illigal. You are not running it at the decoy and you are running it from a "remote" location. Just my .02 cents worth. Borch
I'm not sure. I just got back from checking my regulations again and I couldn't find the info. I'd email them witht eh question at www.dnr.state.mn.us They've alway return my emails pretty quickly with an answer.
Sartell Angler
I have seen this discussed before and am pretty certain that it is perfectly legal. It might ease your mind to check with a CO but I am confident that you are within the law.S.A.
