    Webster Area

Thanks for the info. I have heard nothing but good reports from the area that and that the people are great and willing to share info. Thanks for sharing your report. I will post when I get back. Can not wait to leave. Froggy
  2. Thanks for the info. I have heard that lake can be good. Hopfully the wind dies down before we go so we have more options. Anyone else have more info on any other lakes. Froggy
  3. Going to be in the Webster area next thursday and wondering what lakes are kicking fish out. This is our first time going out there and are looking for walleyes and crappies. For the last few years we have tossed the idea around and are finally coming there. Not looking for GSP locations but lakes and how to target them like pulling raps, jigging, or lindys. As I said this is all new to us. Thanks, Froggy

    Muzzy bullets

I love my Hornady STX 44 cal pistol bullets for you 50 cal muzzy. I can shoot nickles at 100 yards and they expand great. 13 deer and never had a recovery problem. Froggy

    doe tag?

I e-mailed the DNR this exact question and you can use it for either season as long as you have a license for both seasons. So if you did not fill the doe tag for firearms you can buy a MZ lic and use it for that! Froggy

Awesome fish story on Mille Lacs

Exact thing happend to my dad on Vermillion 6 years ago on opener. He caught a big perch and a ski ate it whole and we landed the ski. It was 44 inches if I remember right. Froggy

    Doe Permit ?

Ok so here is the question in nuts and bolts fashion! My brother got a doe permit for our area for MZ hunting. We also applied for them for slug season but did not get one for that. Per the regulations book it states "the authorization will be valid for either the firearms or MZ season; however you must still have a valid license for that season" Now so does that mean his doe permit is valid for the slug season also? That is totally the way I read it. I have this question in to the DNR but I wanted your take on it also. Thanks, Froggy

    Youth shotgun for deer

Like trigger said, Food, comfort, and entertainment. I also recomend start with evening hunts as they are usually warmer and also dont make the sit to long. I took my son bow hunting with me starting at 10 and kept it short by going about 1.5 hours before dark and kept it simple. I was even blessed by getting a doe with him in the stand. But biggest thing like stated is keeping them comfortable and fed. As far as a gun went I got my son a Mossberg 500 Bantom 20ga with an adjustable stock that grew with him. It came with a rifled slug barrel and bird barrel. Still have it and now my wife shoots it as she just got into deer hunting. Have fun with you child and make it all about them.. Froggy

    Something changed--HELP.

My first thought is also that the peep slid on the string. Had that happen 2 years ago and totally messes with the feel of the draw length. Froggy
