Lake Despair, Wawang, Clearwater

Looking to go up to Canada the last week in August. My normal haunts are booked up or to "rustic" for the girlfriend.

Three places have responded with openings:

Trails End Lodge on Clearwater Lake near Emo

Moose Track Cottages on Lake Despair near Devlin

Wawang Lake resort near Graham

Any info or recommendations is appreciated. Mainly walleyes but will spend time on Pike.

Trails End on Clearwater is clean, nice and the people are great. See if you can get their outpost cabin on Loonhaunt Lake. As for fishing I usually fish Pipestone for Lakers. Pipestone does have eyes but they are hard to find. Loonhaunt has nicer eyes and pike, but I do not fish for them. I have never fished Clearwater. Ask the people at Trails for suggestions.

I just got back from Happy Landing Lodge on Pipestone Lake. They have a bunch of portage lakes with different species in them. The walleyes were really snapping on Yoke Lake. we caught alot of numbers and some 27-29 inchers. The cabins, meals, equipment, and all the staff were fantastic. Give them a call and ask for Matt. Thank you both for your replies and information. We have decided to go to Indian Point Camp on Wabigoon Lake near Dryden. I will report back on how we did.
