The fishing has been good for Piek 20-25' long. A variety of jigs, all tipped with sucker ,meat. You can also deadstick a sucker or waterdog. A varity of depths have been working. Good luck

The actions slows as the ice thickens at Sanchez. Do I sound like a columnist yet! Well the ice is around 16 inches and people are now driving out on it. Caught 4 pike nothing over 25"

Thanks for imformation. Went to Sanchez today.Full day 9-4.Caught two Pike 22and18 in.. Beautiful weather and great view from lake.Anyone there today? Good luck sw icer.

Ya I was there, your right about the view and great weather today. Although the fish weren't as cooperative as I would have liked, it still was a good outing.

Gilles; What area were you fishing? I was with my long time fishing buddy and son about 200 yards sw of dam in the green Nordic flip over. sw icer

Sw-icer, I was fishing the front of the island in the morning and then moved around the back side of it in the afternoon, the best action was around the back side.

Gilles: We oringinaly parked southeast near island, walking toward channel. We drilled several holes inroute using white tube jigs tipped with sucker meat, only a couple hits. Showed only a couple on the vex's. About noon we headed toward the dam area. Were you the one that drove the truck to the island then to the channel? Have you ever fished Dome? Sw icer, that wasn't me who drove all the way to the channel point of the island although I thought about it, I figured it was to rocky to try. I haven't fished Domes for a few years but When I lived in Gunnison I'd drive there for a early morning duck hunt and then ice fish the rest of the day. There are some brookies up to 16" and some good size browns in both but most of the fish arn't very big. Have you fished Dome lately?

Gilles:Iv'e fished Dome the past few winters either going or coming from Gunnison.No braggers.Enjoyed the variety of trout;bows,brookies,browns and cut throughts.Fished it in April-open water,just bows.I have seen some huge brookies other people caught-it keeps me trying it if Im in the area. I would'nt make it a focus destination.---SW icer
