Mwal,

Try the sportsmansguide.com They have a blind that pops up and is 68" square and 78" high. 4 windows with zipps. $40!!! I used one last year and will do it again. I am in N. WI too.(Bayfield county) Where are you at? They are big enough for an office chair that swivels and still be able to put the Mr. Heater /cooker in it. I have room for my pack and my rifle too. I lay my pistol on my pack or have it in my vest.

The rain last year was so bad I would not have made it all day. We resorted to wearing waders. Not the kind of deer hunting I want to do.

I cover it up at night with a tarp so the snow comes off easy in the morning. Be careful of the material you use or the inside gets a little rainy with condensation.

Swamp Scooter

I'm in Bayfield Co to . I had a tree lounge last year but in the opening day blizard i chained to the tree it was in at dark and it was stolen by some low lifes the snow made it impossible to track them. I will be bringing it in and out daily.
i will borrow a blind this year and decide if its something I want to buy. Did you put any orange on it?

I had an ameristep ground blind last year and I would reccomend that if you are going to buy one, when you decide to, make sure the fabric it is made of is not that which will make alot of noise when entering or exiting, or just from wind. I dodnt care for my experience with it for that reason otherwise I think I wouldve liked it.

2 years ago I didn't have any time to prepare. I shot a nice 6 my buddie got a eight on opening morning. we each wore full blaze and sat on white buckets near hevilly travled deer paths.. I say deer are blind! Untill you move that is. i've taken shots from the ground and had them run right at me!
if you can sit still you don't need a blind at all!!

I have shot several deer from pop up and swear by them. In Manitoba often during rifle season it is cold da.. cold and the breaking of the wind is very important. I sit in heavily wooded areas. One has to be careful that the wind does not get to flapping the material for sound and movement. I feel these pop ups contain your scent as well. There are blinds that are carbon lined and increase the scent from escaping even more.

Concerning the theft of these units we haul ours out every nite as they are so compact and fold up into neat packages and are NOT heavy. If U go and get the mansion then you are increasing the weight. We use the "Outhouse" and find it sufficient.

Try and blend into the background or even use afew branches to break it up.

No, U can't place it out in the open field and expect a deer not to notice U and it does not allow you to totally forget about the wind direction and your scent. We put the oragne cap on ours as well as we found other hunters did not notice us and on one occassion a guy put his pail down about 50 feet away and got set for the day but had quite a surprise when I stepped out of the blind, I knew then I had to have the orange on the top.
