im not a bear hunter but where on a bear do you place your shot on the body of a bear? thanks for the replies. now go get yogi!!

Well Yogi dropped in about 10 yards last season froma shot placed just behind the shoulder when the front leg was forward. It is crucial to wait for the leg to go forward to expose the vitals or you wind up shooting too far back.

Too steep of and angle will cause problems as the shoulder blades cover the heart and lung area. I talked with a coupld of guys last year and they shoot from very tall stands and go for the head/neck drop shot with a muzzle loader. It was effedtive for them and they bear goes straight down but you usually ruin the skull.
