Anybody ever made an antler knife?

My son is bugging me to make a knife with an antler handle.

I have a small fork antler that I can use, but where the heck do I start?

I started to make one then my house burnt down so I lost it but was almost done with it. Ya can use anything but I'd recomend to use some high quality stainless steel for the blade. Something above 400 series. Not all stainless is rust resistant, most commercial stainless is 305 and for a knife you'd want something a little more hard. Able to hold an edge better that way. If your asking how to put the blade in the handle that's the tricky part. Wished I could be of more help but sorry. Let me know how it turns out.
