Stand Ideas

Recommended Posts

I need to build a free standing stand that I can build in the woods and disassemble when the season is over. I can't use any trees. It has to be free standing. Easy to get in and out of the woods to a degree.

I used laddder stands this year, and a week on one of them is a week I don't want to live through again. I'm looking for some comfort also.

Anyone have any ideas or plans they have used in the past? Thanks Mayfly

My father built a very nice one for himself. He designed it so it's easily portable (he's 75 yrs old, and has been using for about 5 yrs)

It's all aluminum, and marine grade plywood, with plexiglass windows. He used aluminum angle iron for most of it, which was easy to cut by hand, and inserted the plywood and secured it with machine screws. It's just 10ft tall, but could easily be taller. He took a pair of bicycle tires and attached them to the legs so he could lower it down (after dismantling the top to reduce the weight) and he can roll it like a wheel barrow.
