Bogsucker
Distance (east/west) with regards to DD/MM/SS varies with latitude. switch your gps settings to utm (metric) which is in meters east and north. You might be able to close in on the point by finding it on the MNDNR Landview Interactive http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/landview_dhtml.html site or maybe on Topozone then relocate the point in field using coordinates obtained from the interactive sites. Bogsucker
Or using UTM format add or subtract (800 yards = 731.5 meters), (880 yards = 1/2 mile = 804.7 meters) to your easting or northing. There is a difference between 800 yards and a 1/2 mile!

Bogsucker
At 46 degrees north (Lake Mille Lacs) 1 degree longitude = 364670 feet, therefore 2640 feet = .0072394219 degrees = 00/00/26 longitudeI think!I keep my gps in UTM mode to avoid confusion![This message has been edited by Bogsucker (edited 11-03-2003).]
