Venison Jerky

I am looking for a good mix or recipe for some venison jerky, any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Goto the Sharing Recipes section of this forum and do a search on jerky, theres some good ones out there. For a premade mix, I like the stuff from American Harvest, look for it in Walmart where they sell their dehydrators, you mix it with venison burger (provided your venison burger doesn't have pork mixed with it). Goes good with beer!

High-Mountain Mesquite is a great premix. You can find it at most big grocery store and outdoor stores. I've tried quite a few and this stuff is hands down the best I have found so far!

I agree with Capt., the Hi Mountain jerky mix is great. Follow the mixtures to the letter. The pepper mix and the mesquite are my favorites.

I just smoked about 10 lbs of venison jerkly last night with a mix from von hansons. My wife picked this up. it turned out really good. I will be trying the mix from gander in the next few weeks here. I have about 15 lbs of venison to get rid of before opener.
