Racer5039
Well the wind and the heater took a toll on my clam. I have a slit melted about 8-10" long. I have replaced the heater (sun flower) with a Mr Heater. Now to fix the hole. I didn't see a patch listed for the Nanook. Anyone have any experience with patching a Clam? Corey Bechtold
I have used Duct Tape in the past! lol Clam sells a repair kit so contact them and they'll hook you up! Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
fishwater
I left a snickers bar in the pocket of a command post years ago after the season ended, it was the first generation of those offered, so this was a while back. Anyhow, I applied Kenyon taffeta K-tape to the mouse holes and it is holding up still.
Brad B
you can order two of these from Clam and just use the blue ones. the blue & black kit is sold out but this other one will work. http://clamoutdoors.com/ice_fishing/tack...qty-2-grey.html if it is a thermal Nanook then get this. http://clamoutdoors.com/ice_fishing/tack...qty-1-grey.html
Racer5039
How do they attach the patch? I looks for the directions but I'm guessing there not on line. Thanks for the links.
Brad B
directions come with the patch kit. I would imagine they attach with fabric glue unless you want to take the skin off the frame and then sew it on. I have never had to use a patch kit yet. Northsider #13
If it is not insulated, find some canvas (shop, old boat cover, old tent) and use tear mender. Tape the tear/burn from the inside so it is as close to being where it was. Measure and cut a piece of canvas to fit the tear/burn. Use Tear Mender as instructions say. If you want you can then take the tape off and repair from inside also. I have done it and it works great. Last year I bought a brand new pair of glove from Cabela's (nylon I think outer, inner waterproof glove and some insulation). Burned a 1" X 2" hole the first time used. Cut some canvas to fit the hole and used Tear Mender, good as new all most. It has worked for me!
