Moose-Hunter
I fish out of a Clam Voyager and need new outwear for this season. Boots I have covered. Jacket and bibs, not so much. I have a few ideas but want to hear what you folks would recommend. What say ye?
muskie hunter
Ice armor extreme or edge suit I have the extreme and it is awesome I am never wet,and always warm. The stuff is so water proff that this one time I went and rolled in a puddle of slush, and water to see if I would still be dry and I was. Also the ice armor boots are great, and always dry, and warm. Then there are the ice armor X gloves and they are great that you can summerge them in water and grab a fish and your hands are still dry, and comfortable. The only disadvantage is the sizes of suits are wierd because a double X on ice armor is smaller than a frabil suit but if you go to the St. paul ice show you will get a great deal I got mine for 240 dollars
harvey lee
I believe I either have or have had most every suit. For a suit when it is not serioulsy cold, like -20, I go with my Artic Armour. For the very cold, my Sno Suit, this suit is the ultimate for cold weather warmnth. picksbigwagon
I fish out of a portable and a popup, I wear Carharrt Fleece lined jeans and put my camo rain pants over the outside (gander mountain brand) and I am dry and warm since the pants are windproof too. Granted I don't ride a sled or wheeler out on the ice
Tim Moore
You really can't beat the Ice Armor suits. There is a suit for any type of fishing/conditions. I have owned several different brands and I have has the best luck with Ice Armor. I usually fish in an Edge Suit (blue suit) but this year I will be wearing the new Lift Suit, it is basically an Edge Suit with buoyant properties. For ultimate warmth and durability you might try the Ice Armor Ultra suit. I sold several of these last season to very warm and happy ice anglers. fisherman-andy
The Frabill Sno Suit have been praise as the warmest suit around, but heavy and bulky. I know a few guys that wear Ice Armor grey or Ultra suits which their pretty happy about. I chosed a Striker Ice hardwater suit for its safety features and warmth. They have a Climate version that can double as a ice suit and year round suit.
Lawrence Luoma
I really love the Ice Armor Edge suit and looking forward to the Lift Suit this year. I'm not a warm suit guy as I love the to layer and add or take away layers as needed. Get too warm of a suit and you lose the layering capabilities. To me it makes more sense too. Buy the Edge suit cheaper on the pocket book and then take the extra money to buy the good Ice Armor Merino Wool and fleece layers to go with it. Good base Merino wool layers will keep you warmer anyways.
