Ok, it might be in the middle of the open water season, but believe it or not, ice fishing is right around the corner and the Ice Team Pros are excited to start talking ice fishing again!

That being said, the date is set for the 9th Annual Thorne Bros and HotSpotOutdoors.com Portable Modification Get Together!!! ...

Date: Saturday, September 28

Location: Thorne Brothers - Blaine, MN (www.thornebros.com)

Times: 9am - 5pm (however the store will be open at 8am)

For anyone who has been to any one of these events in the past, I think it's safe to say it's a fun-filled day and everyone goes home happy!

A TON of companies in attendance and it officially kicks off the ice fishing season!

Some things to expect...

- Check out modified portable fish houses

- Enter your modified portable fish house for a chance to win GREAT prizes

- Listen to excellent seminars from ice fishing professionals

- Enjoy food and snacks

- Go home with tons of FREE prizes and giveaways from attending companies

- Partake in Ice fishing talk with fellow anglers and your favorite ice fishing companies

- DISCOUNTS on EVERYTHING in the store!!!

- ICE FISHING EXCITEMENT IN THE SUMMER!!!

- Plus more!!!

This means you might want to get out your portable fish houses and begin your modifications! We will make the prizes for 1st-3rd definitely worthwhile!!!

You can except seminar speakers like Dave Genz, Corey Bechtold and more!

So, mark your calendars for Saturday, September 28 and see everyone there!

More details to come...

Will there be discounts on ice shacks?

Yes, I'm sure. Typically they discount everything in the store for this event. A great chance to get a jump-start on the ice fishing purchases or even add a few new items to your open water tackle box too!

Reminder... this event is on Saturday!!!

I know there are a ton of great things happening at the event...

Clam Outdoors will be giving away a Fish Trap Scout EXP, a Clam Six Pack 1550 Mag hub shelter, an 8" Edge Power Auger, a handful of rod/reel combos, jig boxes, shelter accessories, and more!

Vexilar will be giving away an underwater camera, a bunch of accessories, some clothing items, and more!

Zippo will be giving away a pile of hand warmers (not the cheap throw away ones, the nice butane ones)!

Plus many more free giveaways from many other ice fishing companies... and all you have to do is attend to win something! In years past, everyone has gone home with something!

Also free seminars from Pros like Dave Genz, Corey Bechtold, Tony Roach and Brad Hawthorne!

Oh, and some food and huge discounts on everything in the store at Thorne Bros!

And probably the biggest event of the day... don't forget to bring your tricked-out portable fish house, as the top 3 donated prizes will be given away to the top 3 best modified portable fish houses! So you still have time to get in the garage and tinker with your gear and then bring it with to display on Saturday!

Event starts at 9am and goes until 5pm at Thorne Brothers in Blaine, MN off of Hwy 65/Central about a mile north of the Hwy 10 crossing.

See you there!!!

Despite the rain it was still a great day! Lots of people attended this event and I can say I had a lot of fun as well!

Thorne Bros is such a cool store. Great people that share the passion of fishing like us makes it seem like we're family and not just another customer.

Good fishing,

Corey Bechtold

Cory, I responded to another of your statements on the HotSpot HSOforum. I am Ed Stern. I talked to you about Lake Francs after your presentation. Thanks again for your advice and your personal point of view. We took the grand kids out yesterday afternoon and watched the five kids catch about 40 sunfish in an hour. We even had some time to catch a few, too. Several times, one of your comments came up as we brought in fish & then adjusted our jigs each time. Thanks again, good luck on the ice!
