Rick G
Was enjoying the day on my favorite local Bull and slab lake. Action was pretty good and all was going right, when all of a sudden my Vexilar starts loosing bottom, I just figured it was a dirty connection or something simple. Turns out my transducer is shot, no clicking noise anymore and my spare transducer waso all the way back at home . Long story short, my confidence level went down, my catch rate also took a nose dive and the fun factor just wasn't there any more. After fishing with a Vexilar since 1995 I don't know if I could ever fish with out one and still be as successfull.... I hope I'm never caught with out my trusty Vexilar again
monstermoose78
I feel your pain Rick. I had a large mouth bass wrap around my transducer and it separated the cord some how. I did not have spare so I had to run around and tried to find one. I also will not fish with out the vex.
MNCPRGUY
I made the hour and a half trek to IA yesterday to try my hand with plastics in Kevan Paul's backyard. About 10 minutes from the lake I remembered the flashers were sitting at home on the workbench charging! I was committed to no live bait and no bobbers but without the flasher, I had a brief moment of panic! Fortunately, I had my aqua vu micro tucked away in my rod bag! The day was saved and my Maki Plastics were a success!
dan z
What a bummer, I can't imagine life without a flasher. Just think now you can upgrade to the talk of the town "pro veiw"
Jim Kusuda
Since I have a 19*, 12* and Pro View Ice-Ducers, I put one on my flasher and have the other two in a little Tackle Tote nylon bag. I swap them as situations change from: looking for the presence of fish, water depth, weeds, focusing on jig and target separation. I was out during first ice over deep water using the Pro View when a buddy's ice ducer had a broken wire from pulling it out of a hole and hitting the bottom of the ice. I showed him how setting it on the wet, clear ice it would still work with the weight off of the cord and he could still see the fish and rig. Then I remembered my little bag and we put a 12* on. Back to Vexilar hole hopping! I always tie a loose overhand knot around the handle before connecting it, in case the nut vibrates loose during transport.
