Tim Moore
I keep getting questions and suggestions about new products and innovations from Clam and Ice Armor products. Since Matt does such a great job with this board and getting the users suggestions back to clam I thought this would be a great place for a thread like this. Such as, the pro shop in NH that I work in has received several requests for multiplier style ice spooler reels.
Northlander
Make a floating suit!!!!!!!!!
bigblue
Second that thought . Make it light and flexable like Artic Armor and build it like a Ice Armour gray suit and you have a winner .I have tried them all they are all good but fall short. The Ice Armour floater would be a HOME RUN .
TruthWalleyes
Make them tough and durable. Also, have Clam post the actual specifications of their houses... Raise the height of the sled type flip-over houses so I can stand up in one.
Hoey
Offer tall sizes in the bibs and jackets.
BartmanMN
Offer tall sizes in the bibs and jackets. Agreed. That is the main reason why I purchase GuideWear is for the Tall sizes. Us tall lean guys, don't like to purchase bibs and jackets that we need to swim in.
mtwalleye1529315212
Posted this a few weeks back. A lot of Yukon owners out there that would buy a thermal cover for their Yukon's. http://www.hotspotoutdoors.com/forum/ubb...mal#Post3032655
fishing tech
I would like the bibs to have a side zipper that goes from hip to foot. Not knee to foot. My next suit will have that and I will be buy next fall.
aaron otto
Going to leave out the ones already done. My humble suggestions are to market to the next generation and young parents. Ask who will buy in ten years? That isn't immediate ROI, but will plant the seeds, and buy market share in the future. If you look at other niche markets in the angling community this is exactly what they've turned to. Staying power is king. - Kid sized Ice Suits that float - make parents feel safe -Large Arbor Fly Style Reel - increase the speed up the hole -High End Rod Series- not that the current rods are great- just a market being missed. -A series of Weight-Conscious gear - (Not I'm too fat) but the tag line is "I'm the lightest". - Partner Clam - Yeti Coolers- all Blue
bbfenatic1582813981
Nanook Big Mouth Thermal. Nice unit but if it had the spreadable bottom like the new one man Big Mouth this year it would make the Nanook very desirable IMO. Seats are OK for two but with holes and Vex's on the ice it gets a little cramped plus might allow for 4 holes. My Clam Pro has seen its better days and going to buy new one for this coming season and going to get a two man flip style.
Valleye
Tall and Lean???? What about short and stout sizes in the Ice Armor suits. You know for guys that have waist sizes bigger than their inseam. LOL. 1.Why buy runners for the sleds when they can just put them on first. 2. A rack or assembly specifically for the Scout that you can put on your ATV or SMobile to transport your flip over. JohnMickish
I'd like to see a good flat floor option for the hub houses. I make my own out of 3/8 ply and 1/2" polystyrene insulation. It make a huge difference in the house. The older Clam Plastic ribbed floors were, lets just say not that nice.

Great idea Aaron. My son asked me on every trip this year if he could get a blue suit like mine. He loves ice fishing and loves spending time with dad, which equates to wanting to dress like dad. Also kid sized Ice Armor gloves. Right now the only truly waterproof gloves for kids are Columbia or the like and they are either mittens or finger gloves that don't offer enough dexterity for them to hold a fishing rod. I have been hoping for this for years now.
aaron otto
Thanks polarsuds. Was thinking of my two little ones. You could do the Boys are Blue suit and the all "Pink" is the new Blue for girls. My two little hard water anglers would love it. So would their mother and grand parents. Lost my grandfather through the ice many Christmas's ago. The subject is close to home but impacts us all here. What a thought: Maybe some day ice suits that don't float won't even be an option? silverbulletguy
Foldback mitts that aren't like sponges. I know they cant be truly waterproof but the fleece seems to really soak up water. I like to be able to fold back and re-tie or re-bait without taking gloves/mitt's off completely. I've taken my mitts off and set them on the ice(while hole hopping) only to have the wind take them into the hole or blow them away.

Zugunruhe
Make sure that the fabric on tents actually fits and allows the bottom poles to sit on the ice. I have a Denali and now a Kenai where the fabric is too taught (even with stretcher poles in place) to allow for this. In fact, the Denali rocks back and forth if not able to slush it in. Exchanged many emails with Clam customer service shortly after purchase and they are aware of the situation but I see this issue still coming up on a variety of Clam units. Don't get me wrong, I love the Denali as it does everything a family of four fishing together could want, but this fit issue is causing people some heartburn.
