Chicken of the woods?

I think this is chicken of the woods. The only thing that has me wondering is the fact that I found it on the ground. I will take a better picture and post that too. Thanks for any feedback.

Way too late now, but for future reference: Yes, that was still a Chicken of the Woods but a slightly less common variety. Officially it's a Laetiporus cincinnatus. It's often more pale in color than the more common COTW variety (Laetiporus sulphureus) and it generally grows out of the root system of oak trees which makes them appear to grow out of the ground at times. If anything, I find them to be the better eating of the two.
