walleyewacker
Is there much for fishing around the brookings area. I was thinking about going to college out there and dont know much about the area. I couldnt imagine going somewhere without being able to satisfy the addiction!
ifishsd
Plenty of fishing around Brookings. Lake Thompson and Ponisett are only 30 miles. Plus the Highway 81 ponds, Brush Lake, Goldsmith Lake and Sinai Lake are within 20 miles of Brookings.
Aberdak
I graduated from SDSU in winter of 1980, I used to hunt a bunch around there but I did not fish at all. The previous post is very good and good luck if you choose SDSU. Are you a wildlife and fisheries major?
walleyewacker
Thanks alot for the help. Haha ya the hunting was a good consideration when deciding where to go. I want to major in environmental biology rather than the fisheries and wildlife. From what I have seen and heard the fisheries and wildlife are the park rangers and careers like that. I kinda want to take it a step further and stay in the outdoor field if possible.
Guest
He I was from MN and went to school in SD without knowing anything about the outdoor world. It turned out to be the best decision I ever made. More resources in their natural state out there. Go for it and enjoy the time you spend out there.
