Silly Reel selling question

Do people buying used reels in person, prefer having the line on them or off when checking them out?

Told you it was a silly questions! But hey it is winter, we have to have something to talk about on here this time of year.

Guess I'd say off, since if they buy it they're going to put their line on it anyway....usually.

I'll be the problem child, and say on. My thinking is that it tells me a little more about the reels history.( how it was used[ did it have braid, mono, or flouro], the outside condition gives a little info.) But,i learn the most when I open them up.

Ive always left the line on and no one has every said anything. If someone was really skeptical and wanted the line stripped to inspect it I guess Id be ok with it.

Whenever I have purchased used reels and they have had line on them the first thing I will do is inspect/clean them up and re-spool them with line. So I'd say No Line would be my answer.
