Best way to take out a stuck pin in the trailer's hub kit

Hey guys,

I recently replaced my trailer bearings with a new hub kit.  It came with its own pin.  The pin is bigger and thicker then the original pin. Hence, I got the pin into the castle nut but the pin is now stuck and can't be pulled out. 

What is the best way to take it out once it is stuck?  Any methods that has worked for you?

In a pinch I have clamped a vice grip wrench on the proper end of a cotter pin and tapped on the vice grip to get it out. Probably a pretty carpy way to treat a vice grip wrench but desperate times call for desperate measures.
