Dotch
Lots of orioles this summer. Between the orchard's and Baltimore's they're blowing through a 32 oz jar of jelly every couple days. One issue though and it's really ticked me off: The house sparrows have moved in on the jelly too so not sure just how much of it they're consuming. I've heard others locally are having the same issue as is my brother in the TC. Someone gave me some non-toxic pellets, trying to convince me what a great deal they are. After numerous unsuccessful attempts though to sight the pellet gun in with them, think I'm going back to lead pellets. At least I could hit something. roony
One thing I noticed last week that I had never seen before was a male Oriole getting a beak full of grape jelly and then feeding it to a female Oriole. I have seen Cardinals do that with sunflower seeds but this is the first time I've seen that behavior with Orioles.
