Ion battery storage

How do other Ion owners prep and store their batteries for the off season? Fully charge before storage, charge periodically, do nothing?

Mine gets charged and put down the basement next to the rest of the ice stuff.I charge it about July but it goes to full so fast I don't think I need too.

Exactly what I do, too.  I try to remember to throw the ION and Marcum/camera batteries on at least once or twice throughout the summer.  Also a good time to start the gas auger.  

The lithium ion batteries have a very low discharge rate, so it probably isn't totally necessary.
