Rod building?

Does anyone build their own bass rods? I am thinking about buying a rod building kit from Mudhole and start buying the MHX blanks and building my own rods. I've heard they are absolutely amazing and at a pretty reasonable price. I think it would be a fun hobby to have but just not sure how much time it takes to build one rod. I typically don't like to spend more than $120-$130 on a rod so these would be perfect.

I am actually taking a class here in March locally and going to build myself a 7'6" Flipping stick.  Quite a bit more with the class and all but I think it will be fun.  I would steer you away from Mudhole, as far as sites there are far better ones out there.

I went to a night class at the local high school and built a rod a few years ago.  It is by far my favorite rod.  It is a St. Croix blank and I got it from Cabelas.  The complete kit.  Look for a rotisserie motor.  They are what the instructor uses for when you put the clear glue on the string so it keeps turning and the glue (epoxy) turns out even.  He finds them at garage sales and gets them cheap for the classes.  I agree it was about $120 from what I remember.  Not cheap but man I love that rod....
