Christmas Gift for my hunting dog?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to figure out a great Christams gift for 1 1/2 year old Blacklab. Do you guys have any ideas. I already have most of the important stuff like: e-collar, trainning dummies, leashes ect. I am thinking of something just plain fun. Of course I think the only thing on her list would be another hunting trip!

Any ideas would be great. I know it might sound strange to buy a gift for my pet but I have already spent to much on my wife.

Thanks

Saw this goofy looking slingshot deal that handles tennis balls - looks like you probably shoot a tennis ball into the next county with it. If your lab is like mine, it likes to run - especially when chasing something.
Every year at Christmas I get mine a big soup bone. I know many guys shudder at giving their pooch a real bone, but hey - its Christmas....
Years ago I was at a loss as to what to get for my in-laws' lab. That dog was the laziest thing known to mankind, but loved chasing varmints around the lawn, and actually hunted for me (but not for my father-in-law). In her advanced age, it had been years since she actually caught anything. As we passed the pet store in the mall, I excused myself and headed in - full of inspiration.

The nice gal behind the counter was handing me the care and feeding instructions for the 2 little bunnies I was buying, when in walks Mrs. Zebich.... Looking startled, she asks who the bunnies are for......

"For Maxer" I said innocently.

"Who's Maxer" asks the salesgirl

"My parent's dog" says Mrs., her eyes widening.

The salesgirl grabs the bunny box, throws my check back at me, and orders me out of the store.

If you decide to get your pooch some new playmates (!) don't let anyone else know what you are up to.
