The two days prior to opener will be the coldest days of the winter so far.  That may have a lock jaw effect on the trout.

Don't hit the water before 10am and pick a short stretch to fish.

NEW YEAR’S EVE (THURSDAY):
Variably cloudy and seasonably cold.
Low: 14
High: 25
NEW YEAR’S DAY (FRIDAY):
Partly sunny and cold.
Low: 7
High: 22
SATURDAY:
Variably cloudy, breezy and seasonably cold.
Low: 10
High: 27
SUNDAY:
Mostly sunny and a little milder.
Low: 16
High: 35

Scout the day before around 10am to see what time the shell ice comes off.

Target slow deep water with a feed funnel near to it.

Think about where there are springs upstream of your target area.

Sunday afternoon looks better then Saturday.
