Synthetic rope for winch on a 4 X 4 snow plow

Some time or other I read a post regarding snythetic rope for winches on plows  mounted on 4 X 4s.  I can't seem to fins that post but, was wondering if asnyone has a brand name of this stuff.  Ny asteel cabloe has snapped twice on me on a two year old outfit

Paul-  I used the synthetic and that broke too.  I tie a knot int  the steel cable now and if it breaks, which I don't remember happening I will tie it again.  I think the biggest help is a stopper that keeps you from lifting it and running out of slack.

I can't remember the brand I got the synthetic at Fleet Farm though.  Runnings must have them too.

Don't remember the brand but I changed my winch cables on my wheel house  to synthetic rope 3 years ago and it is still in use and looks good. Just make sure you have no areas where it can rub on metal. I use a sleeve at the bottom by the pulley so it is protected there. very happy with it after 3 years of usage. I know I did buy in on the big online bidding page.

If you change to synthetic you should also change your fairing . The synthetic still breaks but is more user friendly for repairs
