25 hp Merc prop

2003 Merc 2 stroke on a 16 Lund rebel. I have always had a problem getting it to plane with 2 people in it, and I am thinking about solutions as a new motor is not in the budget. Would a different prop make any difference? The one I have on there has a Nick, is it bad enough to have repaired right away? I have have a major trip coming up on Thursday and I am concerned about the prop

I have a 25 also on a 16 foot lund "fishing boat" no carpet etc just the seats.  It's all weight distribution for mine.  Get your fishing pal two thirds of boat in front of you and it works great.  No propoising either.  Your prop is pretty normal.

A hydrofoil did wonders for my 25!

Your prop look just fine (condition wise).

If you're running a "full load" a lot of the time you may consider going to to a lower (flatter) pitch prop to help your hole shot, you'll suffer some top end, but it is a 25HP motor after all...

The prop condition is no problem unless you feel vibration when under power.( then it could be out of balance, hard on bearings) Look to see what the pitch is. As said; lowering the pitch can help, but be certain you don't over rev. the motor with a lighter load. I've heard the hydro foils do help, but have no first hand experience with them.
