Shrink wrapping for boat

I'm thinking of storing my boat outdoors this Winter.  It's a 16' Alumacraft with a 40 hp Johnson.  I've been educated in winterizing boats and motors pretty well.  The motor kicked over this past Summer without a problem.

Has anyone shrinkwrapped a boat with the standard shrink wrap?  I'll have to add vents I know that.

There's some 75 gauge shrink wrap that adds up to a lot less than the $20 a linear foot for the big blue or white wrap.  And less than a indoor space.  

Whaddya think?

Ive thought about the same thing but haven't looked into it yet since i will be fishing into late oct..Hopefully someoe will chim in...

I kept my ProV outside for years so I wouldn't let that bother you, take batteries out, try to mouse proof it.  Can't help you with shrink wrap, I always made a device that made snow and water not pool anywhere (as best that that can be accomplished) and covered with the boat cover and then threw the cheap tarp on.  Put some plywood over tires so sun doesn't shine on them.

Thanks for the replies. I have to weigh my options anyway.  I'm in the South Metro now and finding that outdoor storage is as much as some indoor that I've had last year.  Just gotta get some acreage i guess

We are the same as leech except Dad put up a pole shed here years ago, so ours goes inside.Just don't cover it if it's not dry, BIL & sister did that a couple years ago then had a lot of mold in the spring. No cover on ours
