BoxMN
So I finally got the guts to rip into it, and it really wasn't that bad. Left side front axle seal on a 05 Trailblazer 4x4 (160k).I did make a trip to HF to get a seal puller and a seal/race settings kit (about $35 for both) but the rest of what I needed were normal hand and air tools. I found a page dedicated to the TB/Envoy which was a big help. Took maybe a total of 3-4 hours, but that included an oil change as well. Shop time is 2.1 hours, so I am a rookie. Doingit again I think I could do it in 2 hours easy.I just hope that is what it was, not some type of differential issue... Not making sound though, so hope it was just the seal.I think I now have three (old) vehicles that are all working! But I did see something (leak mark on concrete) under my 98 k1500... ugh, it never ends.I also got my utility trailer all welded up - new crossmembers and ew tongue, after the old stuff crumbled on a construction zone. It is all put back together, with perfect wiring and lights, new heavy safety chains, and painted up nice! Added 2" of tongue weight too (axle moved back 2"), so it should ride a bit better.-Box
