Is anyone going out of state for Pheasants

Im am going this wednesday to Iowa for pheasants, and will be going again between Christmas and New Years. Then again in January.

Anyone else going to make a trip?

Or anyone been down there lately and have any info on bird sightings.

How is Iowa for public lands? I been planning on Nebraska this year since they go till Jan 31, but Iowa would be alot less travel. I have not hunted out of state anywhere before but want to make the season a little longer it seems to go so fast!

The last time me and Brian were down there all we hunted was state land. Alot of birds around and alot of land to hunt.

The best thing about Iowa is if you buy your lic after dec 15th its good for next year to!

Lots of public land and at the end of the year most of the farmers we have asked have let us hunt.

Right now off the top of my head I am not forsure when the last day is BUT it is towards the end of January.

If you buy your licence after dec 15th it is good threw next year, and next January.

I got mine at Cabelas Last year and didnt need one this year!!

Iowa's season runs to the 10th. The folks out there our great about letting you hunt their property.

Kansas offers the same deal with buying your license in mid Dec. It's good for the end of the year and the following year. Their season ends Jan. 31st. It's only about a 3hr drive for us in Colorado so we get a little bit spoiled.

Went to Iowa today with a buddy, and only saw seven birds.
6 of them were hens(which isnt a bad thing)
But the rooster was one of the birds that got up about 60 yards away and crossed a creek which we couldnt cross.
So we got got a big fat 0...

Only got about 3 hours in the feild, Cabelas kind of shortened our trip but it was still worth it!

Might go back tomorrow.
