Lund Pro Guide question

Nathansdad

Question

I'm preparing to purchase a used 2010 or 2075 Lund Pro Guide tiller with a 175-200hp Mercury Verado this fall. Couple questions I have is will that set up troll down slow enough to pull cranks without kicking in and out of gear or is a kicker motor needed? If I ran across a guide boat or pros boat do I need to watch for anything? Will the warranties on boat and motor transfer with to the new owner?

Thanks for the help.

How slow do you want to go?

This might be of some interest...

They only go down to 1000 rpm unfortunately. There are many tests of various boats and motors.

It looks to me as if you want to go slower than about 2.5 more or less mph you will need a drift sock or something.

I have a 175 Verado that will run down to 550 rpms with the smart craft gauges.

It would work for pulling cranks just fine, but the hours add up quick if you do it much.

A kicker is the way to go, and you will be money ahead when you go to sell the boat in the future (reduced hours on the main motor, and the money spent on a kicker will still allow you to ask 2-3k more than a boat without). Not to mention fuel savings and a back up motor if you had a main motor failure on a big lake.

My bet is that the warranty will be compromised if the unit was used commercially or in competition . You would be wise to get a written conformation from the dealer or manufacture before purchasing
