Question

Anyone know if it can be done, or have experience with, hard wiring a Go Pro to the cig lighter or the fuse block in a boat? Purpose being to be able to run almost limitless on a daily basis vs changing out batteries inside the unit every hour to hour and a half. Would this require some sort of reducer or something to go from 12 v to whatever the batteries in a Go Pro are?

That's what I'm wondering, if it's just that simple? Who makes a USB cord that's about 6' long? Then the only thing I'd need to do is cut a hole in the waterproof case to plug in the USB cord, and try to fit that with an oring or something to keep it somewhat water resistant.

Cool beans. Plug my GoPro DC charger into the cig lighter, the long USB cord into that and up to the camera, and I can record while charging, so basically running it off one battery for either several hours or possibly all day? Silly about it. Thanks guys
