09 Silverado Factory Radio Display

Recommended Posts

I replaced the battery in my truck last night and noticed an issue with the clock/radio display today. It doesn't seem like it is an anti-theft function because all of the controls - except the clock button - work.

The problem is that every minute the screen will go blank for a second when switching to the next minute. If the radio is on, it will also cut out for a second and the speakers will pop.

I don't lose any engine power and the gauges on the dash are not affected when this happens. It seems to be localized to the clock/radio display.

Has anyone else ran into this type of issue and how to address it? When I get home I will disconnect the battery to see if this cures the issue.

Also, this is the factory radio and I am the original owner of the truck.
