Anyone ever smoke buffalo fish? I thought it would be like

carp til I filleted it and the meat on the females was almost

white the male fillets were carp color. So I guess my question

would be so you just treat it like a carp?

I haven't done it myself but a friend of mine just tried smoking buffalo this year after he speared a couple while going for carp and pike. The flesh is white but he brined and smoked just as he did the carp. I haven't tried it yet, but he said it was excellent. It's white fish but not as dry as a northern or a walleye.

I used the same brine as I do for all other fish I guess we will find

out tomorrow if it worked.
