Bad transducer cable?

I've noticed a lot of interference on my FL-12 lately. Tonight when I was checking it out I noticed when I moved the cable it would clear up for a little bit.

Could I have a bad cable, or is it possibly something else?

I keep the transducer below the ice.

I checked out the cable and didn't find any dings or cuts.

Any other things to try before I replace the transducer?

I think you probley either streched the cable or droped the tran. and broke one of the wires inside of the cable, easy to do, because the wires are very small. When you wiggle or twist the cable it makes better contact.

I'm going to try using a buddies transducer this weekend. Otherwise I guess I've gotta spring for a new one.

Then the question becomes, do I go for a fixed angle, or go with the proview.
