wheel pivot grease Amsoil or Mystic

One of my wheels is sticking when it's really cold out so I'm going to take it apart and clean and grease it. The store had Mystic jt6 lo-temp extreme and Amsoil synthetic. What one should I use? I can't find anything on the mystic saying it's a synthetic.

Need more information to make an educated choice. NLGI rating? Base oil viscosity? Thickener chemistry? There are synthetics that would be too thick even in the Mohave or a conventional that would work in Antarctica.

I would look for a lithium complex NLGI 0 with an ISO 100 base oil.

I did some more digging and found Amsoil has a cold climate grease rated down to -75F called Arctic but I can't find it locally and needed it now. I found some more info on the Mystic and it was rated to -65F, so I just went with the Mystic.

Look at the low temp torque numbers between the two at -40f. Now I'm not comparing apples to apples because the low temp Amsoil wasn't available to me at the store but between the 2 I'm confident I made the right choice. full-26462-52638-image.jpg

I don't believe any grease would cause your wheel assembly to stick when its cold. It is more than likely rusty and full of moisture, the moisture is freezing when it gets cold. Take it apart, clean it up good, smear waterproof grease on the pivot shaft/sleeve when you reassemble it and continue to grease it every trip.

Been using Mystic on my wheelhouse pivots since 2006 with good results. I have only pulled the pivots apart, cleaned them up and greased them once. I do shoot grease into the grease fittings and pivot the axles both ways as far as they will move about once per season.
