ZapMan
I need another new deep frying thermometer. Does anyone know of a good brand that lasts? It seems that mine all quit working after a few batches. I have numerous cheap ones and after being hot for awhile they are not accurate anymore. I commonly use more than one and they all seem to go their own way. I've been looking on the big"A" site any there is a lot of thermometers out there

Down Deep
I have a Polder digital that I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond. It is actually a meat thermometer. The stem cover attaches as a handle that allows for it to be used in a deep fryer. Top temp is 425. I've been using it for all kinds of cooking for at least 10 years. Battery will last for two or three years.
