Reel?

So my awesome wife bought me a TUC precision rod for Christmas! I'm going to use for perch and walleye. I have some Cabela's points and would like to get a nice reel for this rod.

My question is, what would be a nice Ice reel from Cabelas that I should put on the rod?

Thanks for the input.

I like the inline reels. Santa left me a geared reel this year, and I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure about those. However, for depths less than 20 feet, I think a straight 1:1 inline reel is perfect.

I tried the Black Betty, but spent more time untangling the line than actual fishing. After getting rid of that, I've been using reels from Frabill and Clam - both have been excellent.

Again, the 1:1 retrieve isn't the greatest thing to have when you need to get down below 20-ish feet, but I've used them down to 45 feet and they do work (just takes longer to unspool line).

Overall, very happy with inline reels so far and I'd recommend them.

I'd go inline reel. I'd recommend the Eagle claw inlines ($50) or the No. 8 CGi's at $35. You should even look at the Frabill inline for $70 if you really want to. If you prefer spinning reels, can't go wrong with any Shimano. Personally, I like the 500 series of the Sedona and Sahara models. I do also have a couple of Cabela's 500 reels on rods which also work great for a $30 reel.
