I-Pilot Link

Looking into getting an I Pilot Link. The only issue I have is I will need to replace my old Lowrance unit with a Bird. Right now I have an Elite 5 DSI. Really looking to upgrade to something with some more features and larger screen. What are you recommendations for an H-Bird upgrade/switch? Like to keep it around 500-750. Thank.

Download the MinnKota iPilot Link compatibility guide, revised 10/27/14, found here:

The 700 series is the lowest cost of those listed, but HB has discontinued it in favor of the new 600 series. You might be able to find 700's still for sale, but I think that would be the only unit that would fit in your $500-$750 price range, especially after you add a map card. Good Luck.

I am also looking at upgrading my minnkota to an I-Pilot. I also have a Lowrance unit. Doesn't the I-Pilot work with the Lowrance units?
The Ipilot link does not work with Lowrance, but the Ipilot should work for sonar.

Motorguide xi5 Pinpoint will connect directly to your Lowrance unit and if you want to add features like IPilot Link, there is an option for that too at a fraction of the cost of the IPilot Link, but you must have Gen2 Lowrance units.

You will like the link. Remember there is a difference between the I-link and I-Pilot.

I went thru the same thing you were going thru, Had a older Bird the SI?DI, and decided to go the Link. Heard buy this unit and that connection hook it up that way and you will get most of the features you want. While starting to add up all the stuff and trying make jerry rig connections It would be easier just to start with all the right equipment and it went smooth. Also, Bird, Minn-kota, lakemaster, cannon are all owned by one company Johnson&Johnson outdoor products division. So they are trying get their products to only work with their units. Spend the extra bucks and find used and go with Bird 900 series and above
