Just wondering how you work your rigs in the slop, what action rods, line test, I see you florida rig, are you pitching, flipping or just throwing it out there, please help, I am looking at trying to add another way of fishing lilies, for tubes, do you use big tubes, certain colors you like or brands, how bout worms, I use zoom for docks and outside weedlines, what works in the slop? Looking for something extra when I am in the back of the boat and The other guy is chicking his frog, I lost a couple of nice fish on frogs, and tired of it, would senkos work in the lilies? Need some help horribly, nightmares on missing them.

I know for me, I often will pitch an Exude Salatube with a 1/2 oz tungston weight in slop. Work on trying to hit the holes and let it drop threw the heavy vegitation. Then use the hole to hold your line to vertically jig your tube, try to let it sink back towithin a few inches of the bottom and hold it. You would be surprised how many fish you can catch behind someone fishing a frog. I use a heavy action rod with 50 lb braid for this application..I use a variety of colors depending on the water clarity.. black/blue, watermellonseen and pumpkinseed are my top 3...

as for senkos in lillypads.. yes they will catch fish!

Hey exudedude,
I talked to you a few months ago regarding North Center but I lost your email address. I'm heading out to WBL tomorrow and was wondering if you have any tips for that lake.
My email is: [email protected]
Thanks,
Ole
PS You had it right about the pattern on NC the first week of June. They were where you said but they wanted it oh so slow!

Yee haw--I am right some of the time.. be sure to let my wife know that if you get the chance.. Just kidding!

As a matter of fact I will be on WBL tomorrow as well.. but only in the morning. From about 5:30 am till 9am(I have a white Triton with a gold and black in the back..stop and say hi if you have the chance.)... Helping my Uncle pre-fish.. I have won a few tounaments on WBL... Unfortunatly I dont have any out there this year.

My tips for this time of the year is look for movment in the deep water. And what I mean by that is look for inside turns and points in the weedline. 18 or so feet deep if I had to guess.. I was out on Big Marine today, very similar lake.. and the fish were going deep!

Jig worms... Stupid rig(my version of a carolina rig) and maybe some cranks!

Huskie,
I tend to throw texas rigged plastics in the shallow water 90% of the time. Even in what most guys consider slop I still go to the effort to work texas rigs or pegged texas rigs. I also like to throw a frog when it gets real slimy. I tend to fish a lot lighter tackle than most of the guys that fish those environments. All of my texas rigging is either done with 14lb trilene XL (I like it because of the amount of stretch--Which can be very forgiving) or 10lb power pro. I use both of these on medium to medium heavy action rods 6.5 to 7 ft and Okuma spinning reels. If I'm fishing heavier than that I throw 30lb power pro exclusively on medium heavy baitcasting rods also 7ft, with either quantam PT series baitcasters or the new pflueger trions. For both of these situations I prefer IM7 graphite to IM8. I don't want to argue with everyone either on that I'm just stating my preference. I think IM7 is stonger and has more backbone in just about every manufacturers rods. Culprit worms, Outkast tackle, and Zoom are my preferred brands of plastics.

Oh yeah,
Exude and Huskie, both of you guys should check out the Strike King Tube Lizards--They rock. They have the same hard head design for solid hooking and the rest is a tube. They are super salty, with a ton of garlic. What sets them apart however is that they also have the legs that come off the side, so they really do resemble a lizard as well. The other cool thing about them is that you will often find them in the bargain bins, because no one really seems to like them, but they are awesome.
