Open water on small pond.

The ducks and geese have managed to open up a fairly large area of water on a small pond by my house. It is where the storm sewer water enters the pond which I'm sure has a lot to do with it.

2 weeks ago I tested my tuned up auger on the pond and there was 8" of clear ice on it.

The ice is definitely sketchy with this warm spell we've had. After tonight the cold weather moving in should harden things back up. I was fishing yesterday and the ice was getting a little soft.

Yesterday the ice in a gravel pit pond looked real bad. It looked like late ice. open water all around and only an ice or two of ice at the shore.
