Kylersk
ANyone have one? Looking for opinions on it. I tried an older LMS-522C on the ice and didnt care much for it on the ice. Loved it in the boat. Seemed for Ice fishing I couldnt get the interference out. Currently, I have a Marcum LX3-tc and want an upgrade. Figure I'd give the marcum to the kids. Kylersk
Pulled the trigger on one after watching some Videos of the Elite-5 (non CHIRP). $346 after rebate also made it fairly easy to decide.

PurpleFloyd
I am no authority on the chirp version but I have lots of experience with the Lowrance Ice machines having owned an x67c, an elite 5 and just purchased an elite5 HDI unit at the ice show.I can't speak to the chirp specific features but will tell you that on the ice I prefer the graph mode and the ice version has the ability to show an amplitude mode that acts similar to the Showdown on the right side of the screen. The graph also gives you chart history, the ability to track back and watch a part of the history you might have missed and allows you to adjust the colorline and sensitivity to the specific lake you are fishing. It also has a spinning wheel mode if you like flashers but I never use them personally so can't give any input. If you are the type of person who is constantly on the run and move from spot to spot you can set it up in auto mode and it will function but truth be told that type of fishing lends itself better to a flasher than a graph and you may bet better off going that route. If you don't move around as much like I do then the graph offers more than a flasher but you have to take a bit of time to dial it in to the specific water you are fishing in. Different depths, weed densities, water clarities etc show different on the graph and i adjust the settings to optimize the display for each condition. They are very reliable and have a 5 year warranty and for the money are better than the flashers or the LX 6,7,9 models IMO.

Can you PM where you got that deal. I have been in the market a while looking for a deal. Thanks
JoeMX1825
I can't speak for the chirp series, but the regular Elite series is great for ice fishing. We use an Elite-4 on our pontoon in the summer time and the ability to then use it over the winter months is great. I setup a ram ball mount on my quad handle bars, so I use that for mapping, get to my spot and simply disconnect it from the handle bars and plug in into the Lowrance Ice Pack for ice fishing. I also have an Elite-5x i use on my fishing boat in the summer, so if I want a larger screen for ice fishing, I just swap it out with the 4, they all use the same mount and cables...
