New wheel fish house!

Hello, Just wondering if when you are looking at a new Fish House would you pay a little more to have the fish house ready to go? New Battery installed, all the lights checked, tanks filled and checked for leaks, that kind of stuff?

Thanks Wes.

Wes, Don't take this the wrong way, but if I was looking at a NEW fish house... you better believe these things should be done already! No way I'm taking delivery if they are not. It seems absurd to me to even think about selling a new house that isn't safe (possible propane leaks)? Lights better be working! IT'S A NEW HOUSE!

Maybe I don't understand the angle you are coming from, but these don't seem like options to me, necessities yes.

Couldn't agree more with the other guys. Lights should work....it's brand new. Propane lines shouldn't have ANY issues, and the dealer should be MORE than happy to check that out, free of charge. A battery takes 30 seconds to install.

I'd move on down the road if they are trying to charge you for any of the above...but that's just me...

My Salem Ice Cabin came ready to hit the ice. Propane filled, Heater running, Battery installed and charged, and a walk through showing how everything works from brakes to tail lights, lowering and raising, couch to cabinets.

Maybe that's not the norm, but you wouldn't catch me driving anything off the lot that I wasn't sure worked properly.

Milaca was great when I put in the order for my house, then when it arrived things weren't as I had planned. They told me I could keep it or wait for 2 months for another one. I kept it and have problem after problem. Milaca nor Ice Castle have stood behind anything. The repairs they did agree to complete made my problems worse. I wouldn't walk across the street to redeem my free Ice Castle coupon.

When I bought my RV edition it came with 2 full propane tanks they installed! Battery I put in and did pay extra for to get the larger gel pack deep cycle! Should've got 2! The only thing I noticed was my water pump wasn't hooked up when I got home.15 minute fix... I couldn't get my water heater to light, so I brought it to Montevideo, and then while there they upgraded to the self ignite model at no charge, but I did add 2 new cabinets, a light, and a silverware drawer while there. $$$ well spent! It has been good to me since! We have pulled many fish through the floor, and plan to pull many more! If they say they charge to check for propane leaks and to make sure everything works, I'd offer to let them take a pic of my rear bumper, cause I'd already be leaving!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
