Stuck drill adapter

two year ago, I put a drill adapter into a 7" mora hand auger, it needed some convincing to get to fit into the auger. My drill couldn't cut the mustard with it so it has sat on the shelf ever since.

I tried earlier this fall to take the adapter out and it is stuck in there good, I tried heating up the auger neck with a torch but it wouldn't move. I don't feel I need to drag out the power auger this weekend since we don't have that much ice right now, is there something else I could try to get the adapter out of the auger?

Try heating it up again, then melting some paraffin (sp?) wax into the stuck area. Then use a little persuasion with a hammer and pry bar. Hope this helps

I will try the wax, was thinking penetrating oil, but don't want to burn the house down......I have acquired a new extra long pipe wrench recently which should help too
