rickwalley
Has anyone ever removed the inverted flare female fittings that come preinstalled on the auto changeover regulators? I needed them on my two hoses when I moved them to a standard regulator and manifolded my two into one with a tee. I noticed those two fittings looked like they have some type of spring loaded gizmo in them, but it doesn't really look strong enough to be any sort of a check/stop valve. I'm trying to eliminate all un-needed restrictions in my setup . Who knows what those spring parts are doing?

Hawg
Yes- I took them out. A good friend is a gas guy and he confirmed they can come out. The weird thing is that mine are Mr Heater and MH doesn't have a tank hose that fits them, at least not that I could find. But yes, take them off. Hawg
Is this what you're talking about? I have the newer style regulator now and removed them from that one too.
leech~~
The little cap at the top with the light springy thingy if it looks like the one below lets you know when the gas is on or off. Red off-green on.
Hawg
That tells you the tank is empty, it switches automatically but its just a heads up for you to know you have an empty tank.
