WalleyeSlayer21
What kind of gloves does everyone have? What brand cold snap suit do you have. Curious what others have.
Brad B
For gloves I just wear a pair of the brown jersey glove on nicer days and when I am fishing in my portable and switch to a pair of the Ice Armor Edge gloves for the colder days. I also have a pair of mitts I wear on really cold days too. as for suits, my first ice fishing suit was a strikemaster suit (still use this to snow blow the driveway) then I got a first year Striker Ice suit (wear this on the extremely cold days) and my current main suit is a Ice Armor Lift Suit (this is the one I wear the most). for boots I wear the Ice Armor Sub Zero Boots (these are very warm boots). Northlander
On cold days I wear the Sno Suit mittens and the fingered heavy Ice Force gloves when its not bitter cold. When hole hopping its either fingerless wool gloves or thin fingered fleece gloves. If my hands get cold I eiether put them in my pockets or choppers. shamus
Frabill FXE task gloves worked great for me last year. They are bulky but not so bad as to make your hands almost useless. They are waterproof as well. I could stick my hand down the hole with them on and stayed dry...and warm. Sometimes on very cold days I wore a thin liner Ansell glove underneath but not often. Scott O.
I've had the Clam Edge suit since 2009. Warm enough for pretty much any day out on the ice. I also use the Edge mittens because they work for all but the coldest days, but aren't too bulky where I can't put them in my pockets if need be. For boots, I've been wearing the Cabela's Switchback boots for the last 5 years. Very warm, but they don't make them anymore. I'd try out the Clam Onyx or the Cabela's Inferno boots if you're looking at boots for on the ice.
