dewey1980
HAS ANYONE MODIFIED THE SLUSH BOX FOR CATCHING ICE CHIPS WHILE DIGING HOLES IN THE HOUSE? HAVE HAD ISSUES WHEN THE ICE GETS REAL THICK AND ICE CHIPS OVER FILLING BOX, HATE THE WET FLOOR
centralmnguy
I haven't modified it but I usually just keep a 5 gallon bucket next to me & dump it out into the bucket if box is getting to full...the lip of the slush box fits into the bucket so it doesn't spill (most of the time)

dewey1980
The problem I have when drilling while house is up is when u put house down, and the holes don't line up
SnowGuy73
Nope, only time I have a problem is like last year when we had 3 feet of ice shavings to collect.
centralmnguy
You could buy a second one & switch them out when the first box gets full...if fishing with someone they could be switching and dumping so you can keep drilling...Or cut the bottom out of a 5 gallon bucket with a lip & a heavy duty rubbermaid box that will fit inside the slush box and hole to make sides taller...but it will weigh a ton! 38bill
With thick ice when I'm about half way through I stop and stand the auger in an undrilled hole and empty the slush bucket. Then start again and finish the hole. I have also stopped and scooped the chips from the slush bucket into a 5 gal pail but it seems to be sloppier doing it like that. Not much else you can do unless you build your own slush bucket with really tall sides. Of course then you have to be able to lift it once its full.
