Putn'am ondaLine
Heading out to hit some first ice today if it's safe, tomorrow should be solid for at least 4 lakes I've been watching. Be safe out there guys, don't rush to get out if it isn't going to be safe. Wear ice picks around your neck, bring an extra pair of dry clothes and some towels to leave in the vehicle, and use a good chisel to check the ice before each step, if it goes through, just go back, a few days too early isn't worth your life!!! This time of year I even wear a PFD just as an extra safety precaution, you can never be too safe!
20lbSloughShark
Really? Wow, ponds are frozen here around Staples, but I have heard most of the lakes are still completely open. I can't wait, there is a great chance of fishing by thanksgiving.-Tom

Putn'am ondaLine
Here's a little teaser of my first walleye through the ice this season. It's no giant, but it's better than no fish at all.
Bureaucrat
Lake Okaboji in Iowa was completely froze over on the north end of town yesterday. It's not gonna be long with these temps.
