Grunting /rattling is it to early?

Just seeing what all your thoughts were on grunting and rattling from here on out. I have a 180 class buck on the property and I've been staying away. But I'm getting real anxious to sit in the stand. At the same time I don't want to ruin everything. Will calling this early have a negative effect?

Grunt away, I'm not a huge fan of rattling because its never worked for me but if you have had success in the past it might be worth a try.

I tried blind calling/rattling last week. Nada.

2 yrs ago, I blind rattled in my first whitetail buck with bow and killed him at 6 yrds on the 18th of Oct. Saw him come along the field edge from 200 yds away. Woulda been a 115ish 8pt minus the fact his left side was just one big main beam (bad genes or early accident?)

3 yrs ago, I blind rattled in a 100" 8 pt and then a 130ish 10 pt on the same morning and blew it by not making up my mind which I was going to shoot. The smaller buck was one one side of tree and my shooting side. I turned to the 130 and both busted me, bolted and blew. That was Nov 3rd.

Rattling and calling has started to work best for me around the 25th of Oct. From then through the end of the season can be good, but the days just prior to does really being receptive are the best IME. Most of the month of Nov has been good at one time or another for me.

I'm going to take my son out in the next few days and give it a try. He'd be in heaven if he could call in a buck for me!
