White Bass in MN? Lake Sakatah?

Does anyone have any tips as to where I might find schools of white bass in MN? Not looking for any secret spots, but the name of a lake or area where I can find them in schools? The trick is finding them, but usually once you do the bite is pretty fun. I always go to South Dakota for my white bass fix, but would love to find a place closer to home.

I already know that you can supposedly find them in river basins and back waters, but I've never had any success personally. Would love to know which white bass lakes you have the most luck with. Lake Sakatah, upper and lower, both come up when I do a google search. Good place to start? Trap data for 2009 (which is a ways back I know) shows almost 100 white bass caught during that pull, so that gives me some hope. Thanks for any info!

I have always found that lake a bit of a pain with how shallow it is and all the weed growth. Tetonka has a good population, I always seem to find them walleye fishing. Also catch a lot of them on the st Croix again when walleye fishing.

St. Croix and Pool 3.

There is an area accross from catfish Bar in Afton, MN that the White Bass light up nightly in the summer. Casting the shoreline all along the stretch from Hudson to Prescott, you can find White bass. The wing dams south of Prescott will hold them as well.
