Bought a 2003 chevy last Friday had airbag service light on. I'm thinking it's a sensor... wasn't too worried about it but the wife wants it fixed as she drives it during the week. I am sure I need the code read will that tell me which sensor or am I going to be chasing this down.

05 Siverado. Same problem. You want to get the code read. Sensors are expensive. Used one out of the junk yard around 150 for mine. The one located by front bumper. Also remember some shops do not have the scanner to read A/B faults. Home scanners will not. Goog Chev forums alot of good info, about replacing them. Seems that they can go off for some time after ignition is off. Nothing a little tape wont fix

sensors are not that bad to buy you can buy 2 sensors what it would cost you to get it scanned at a dealer I am working on mine shortly I already checked the wiring I got a sensor for $ 80 every mechanic I talked to said most of the time the problem is either wiring under drivers seat or one of the front sensors . I am going to replace sensor one at a time if it isn't a sensor I will have to dig in the wiring some more .Just make sure that you unhook battery and pull fuse and wait 30 minutes before doing any thing.
